What is recweek?

The Council of Organizations of the Ateneo - Manila Recruitment Week (shortened to COA-M RecWeek or simply RecWeek) is every school year’s first and largest organization recruitment event, where all accredited organizations and student groups will have an opportunity to promote and showcase themselves to recruit students for the upcoming school year.

While COA-M and LIONS might differ in their roles and approaches, they share a core commitment: to provide students with a space to grow, thrive, and create meaningful change. Both entities stand as testaments to the Ateneo spirit, fostering a warm, inclusive environment where students can explore their passions, connect with like-minded individuals, and make a difference in their chosen areas.

ACcredited organizations

Accredited organizations are those that have successfully undergone the rigorous SOAR process, ensuring they meet set standards built from different memoranda, laws, and ordinances. Accreditation ensures that they adhere to legal mandates, including the Anti-Hazing Act, Quezon City Ordinances, and CHED memos, fostering a safe and enriching environment for all members.

Accredited organizations are required to be registered through SOAR, a process that nurtures their growth and development, benefiting both their members and the broader Ateneo community. After successfully undergoing SOAR, these organizations are duly-accredited gaining perks such as having their own org room, DCB, and their own formator from OSA.

independent organizations

Independent organizations, hosted by LIONS, encompass a spectrum of groups, including emerging organizations, new initiatives, and established entities that are not yet accredited. Each independent organization brings its unique vision, advocacies, purpose, and potential to the table.

LIONS provides a welcoming space for these organizations to grow, connect, and thrive within the Ateneo landscape. The journey of an organization begins in LIONS and through the support of the community, these organizations find valuable guidance and opportunities to make a meaningful impact on campus life.
